I awoke from madness today
and watched as the sun rose like a blushing maiden
from a cool dip in the translucent sapphire sea.
An angel of light that lifted ever higher
perched on the tip of a cloud until she
gently fell back to earth to her midnight
embrace. I watched as the cosmos
formed and the stars danced through
eternity like nuptials. I watched until
shooting stars struck like Cupid's arrows
in my morose heart and I awoke again
for the second time today, simply amazed.
